Clinical Experience and Results
Since its launch in 1989, Cipramil has been the subject of several important clinical studies.
Numerous well-controlled studies have shown that citalopram effectively manages the symptoms of depression. Like other SSRIs, citalopram compares favourably with TCAs and tetracyclics, offering similar efficacy and superior safety (ref.1). Within the SSRI class, Cipramil has shown to be associated with fewer adverse events than other SSRIs (ref.2)
Our research has shown that citalopram is the most selective SSRI with a low potential for drug-drug interactions (ref.3). It is estimated that more than 20 million patients have received citalopram treatment. (ref.1)
Since it was launched in 1989, Cipramil has been approved in more than 70 countries worldwide and is marketed under the brand names Cipramil, Seropram, Cipram in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and South America. In Canada Lundbeck's citalopram is marketed as Celexa.
Cipramil is available as oral tablets in several strengths, as drops and infusion concentrate.
